Poland - Warsaw

In the courtyard of the Royal Castle is Sigismunds Column. It was built in honour of King Sigismund III, who moved the capital of Poland from Kraków to Warsaw in 1596. The 22m high column was originally erected in 1664 but the column was damaged so it was rebuilt in 1949.
